Heather Acker

Leadership Team Member, Canadian Active Voice

Heather Acker is a dynamic advocate for public policy, community development, and economic empowerment. As a leadership team member at Canadian Active Voice (CAV), she is committed to driving policies that uplift communities and foster inclusive growth. With over a decade of experience in entrepreneurship and advocacy, Heather’s work is focused on creating environments where individuals and businesses can thrive together.

Heather’s dedication to breaking down barriers began in 2012 when she co-founded a digital media agency, challenging the norms in a male-dominated industry, she quickly emerged as a leader in business development in Saint John, using her voice and platform to promote positive change in the business community. Her efforts extend to mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women, to seize new opportunities and lead with confidence.

In 2014, Heather co-founded ConnexionWorks, a collaborative workspace designed to empower solopreneurs and remote workers. This initiative aligns with her vision for community-driven growth, where shared spaces foster innovation and collective successes.

Heather’s passion for uplifting communities extends beyond her business ventures. She has actively contributed to local nonprofits and has served on many community boards, and supported organizations like the New Brunswick Mental Health Foundation, YMCA, CBDC Women in Business, and many more. She does this to raise awareness, advocating for impactful policies, and driving sustainable outcomes.

At CAV, Heather champions policies that encourage collaborative solutions, social inclusion, and economic advancement, working with stakeholders to create a prosperous future for all.
