Candidate Profile: Benjamin Abis has called Etobicoke North home for 20 years. A retired public servant, he worked at the Toronto South Detention Centre (TSDC), first in services staff before becoming a Correctional Officer. At TSDC, he was a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, actively speaking out against racism and supporting rehabilitation programs for inmates. As an OPSEU officer, he fought for better wages, benefits, and safer working conditions for his colleagues.
