Candidate Profile: Nicki Lyons-MacFarlane is the New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Fredericton—Oromocto. Since 2018, they have worked as a law library technician at the University of New Brunswick and served as a union representative on the executive of Unifor Local 4504. Nicki has held roles such as unit representative, women’s advocate, and regional representative for young workers in Atlantic Canada. As Chairperson of the Board for Fredericton’s Imprint Youth Association, they have organized events, led rallies, and provided resources for 2SLGBTQIA youth. Nicki actively opposed the 2023 changes to Policy 713, advocating for better community protections.
